figure collecting! more specifically anime figure collecting, a big hobby of mine!

i got into figure collecting around 2019, after discovering it through tiktok. i started browsing amazon and the obsession started lol. so i personally am a big hatsune miku figure collector, it’s my “niche” you could say.

i don’t have a huge collection but it’s over 3/4ths just hatsune miku lmao. i got my first figure back in 2020, it was given to my by my grandparents. it’s miku’s 13th anniversary figure and my dream figure at the time. now i believe this figure is actually somewhat hated in the community \(oAo’’)/ i’m not sure i’ve seen several people say they hate this figure but i still adore it!

recently i’ve been keeping more of an eye out on scale figures! those are the big kind that are super extravagant!! however they’re alsooo… incredibly expensive. like two of my paychecks at least UGH.

when it comes to buying figures, i mostly shop online haha! i live in a place where there aren’t many stores to support my hobby and they all mark up the prices (눈_눈) i get it though, shipping them and then selling to such a small market must be a tough way to make a living. but i am not paying $50 for a blind box bro.

part of the reason i want to go to japan (more to be mentioned in a later update!) or travel more, is because of resale figure shops! i also would like to go to surugaya in person! surugaya is a second shop/online store that i order from semi frequently! they have a large collection of anime, manga, and game related merch and i’d love to dig through it some day! i’ve seen so many videos of the buckets full of pins and trinkets and i wanna go sort through them so bad ><
